PDMA PUBLICATION WITH PRESTIGIOUS STAR AWARD
Visions Magazine Presented With Award of Excellence
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (January 9, 2007) - The Product Development & Management Association (PDMA) today announced that Visions, its quarterly industry magazine, has been selected for the Best Magazine award from the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE). Visions provides professionals in the field of new product development and innovation with up-to-date information and resources to do a better job within their companies.
"PDMA is the global knowledge leader in best practices in new product development and management," noted Robin Karol, CEO of PDMA. "Visions magazine plays a very important role in disseminating this information and encouraging debate and a lively exchange of thinking in the field." The magazine has been dedicated to keeping product development professionals on top of the latest practices in the field for over 20 years.
"In the last few years, we've expanded Visions substantially in terms of depth of news and trend coverage," said April Klimley, editor of Visions. "Today, it is one of the leading industry publications. Visions magazine started out as an association newsletter in the late 1980s. Today, it is a glossy 36-page print magazine focused on news, case histories, and trend articles from around the globe; it is also available to PDMA members in a Web version, and by subscription to non-members.
Klimley has been editor of Visions for six years. Under her leadership, the publication has also won a 2003 APEX Award for the creation of the online Visions alert and a 2005 ACE Award as "Most Improved Magazine" from the New York Chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The ISAE STAR awards recognize activities and programs within associations that are making a difference. Entries are judged by an outside panel of associate and industry experts against other entries in the same award category with similar operating budgets. Entries are judged based on a narrative response and are rated for organization goals, effectiveness/outcomes, creativity, and overall quality.
"The ISAE STAR Awards have a history of recognizing the best of the best in association products and services," said Leslie Murphy, executive director of ISAE. "Visions is a worthy recipient of this award because it provides PDMA members with effective tools to enhance their professional development."
