Before you start
Are you intimidated by the very idea of writing a book? Or have you started a book and reached a roadblock?  Or is your book already in manuscript form, but you have found that no traditional publisher will accept it. These are daunting problems that stop people from going forward. But in this day of e-books, that is a mistake. E-books have made publishing accessible at a relatively low cost for the average person. And because of this, more people have an opportunity to succeed at publishing books.  We at the Book Doctor are familiar with all these challenges. No matter what roadblock you have encountered, we can help you. We offer a unique combination of project management and ghostwriting. Because of this, we have a special way of identifying and correcting the challenges that stand
in the way of aspiring authors.

The First Three Steps
The sections below will help you get started writing your book or aid you in evaluating what you have already written.   If you feel need to work faster and would like some professional guidance, we can work with you on each of these steps, plus the other ones listed below them. This list may seem intimidating. But it shouldn't be. In fact, it is easier to write a book if you break the process down and do this sort of planning. And it can be even easier if you want us to help you each step of the way.

Step #1: Finding the theme
Writing a book is not just about selecting the topic. It is also about the "theme" which underlies the events you describe or the ideas you are presenting. This theme, arc, or viewpoint will be what actually captures the reader's interest and keeps him or her
avidly following your text.

                  Step #2: Outlining your book

Once you have identified the theme, you can return to the details of the story or topic. This means creating an outline. But as you do that, you need to keep in mind that each chapter should fit into the "arc" of the theme.

Step #3. Writing (and Editing, Step 4)

This step is the heart of the process. It is where you provide the material that is at the core of your book. This can be done in many ways. We help you decide on the most efficient and comfortable way to record a first draft of your text. Then it's up to you to provide the content. After that, of course, comes Step 4: editing the text. This can be a big or small job. Either way, it requires patience. We are very experienced in making this step as smooth as possible. We want to retain your "voice" as you reveal the essence of your memoir or nonfiction book or story. And, in the end, you will have turned your idea into polished manuscript that will engage and satisfy your readers--your essential goal.

Here are the necessary steps to creating a successful book

IF YOU ARE STARTING FROM SCRATCH--

1-Overall assessment of Idea
                              2-Finding the true theme
                              3-Development and outline
                              4-Writing the first draft
                              5-Editing
                              6-Proofreading
7- Preparation for publishing (cover, etc.)

                                       FOR WRITERS WITH INITIAL DRAFTS
                              (1) Overall assessment of draft
                              (2) Developmental  editing
                              (3) Rewriting and Editing
                              (4) Proofreading
                              (4) Preparation for publishing (cover, etc.)`

NOTE: We work with an array of partners who handle the publishing itself. This is usually very cost-effective, depending on the objective of the author and whether the book will be printed only electronically or also in print.
